A little hole in the wall we found hooked to a Travelodge on our way through Iowa City. The food and drink selection was above average. Lots of fun beers on tap. Moose Island and Fat Tire and other things you usually can't find on the coast. The wine and mixed drink list was just as fun though we aren't big into either. All the draft prices were much better than expected and their happy hour specials knocked them down even lower.
The waitresses were all helpful and knowledgeable and pretty and friendly. The food prices were pretty high though so if anything, that was our one and only complaint, which is a pretty big one. The food quality was high as well though, but twelve dollars for a tuna fish sandwich is over the top by any Midwesterners standard. This ain't Manhattan playa. So ease up on them corn farmers. but otherwise everything was exceptional.
We ordered the Reuben which was really great, the rye was fluffy and wasn't overpowering. The corned beef was lean. There was a pretty good sized group of us so we tried a little bit of everything, chicken, burgers, fries, twice baked potatoes. We pretty much stuck to typical American fare. Didn't try anything more homestead like meatloaf or pot roast even though they offered it. Someone told us later that the pizza there is quite exceptional so we really regretted not getting to try it, but everything else was right as it should have been. No complaints from anyone. We will certainly swing back by if ever the chance arises.
