This is one of those places that are quite common in small Midwestern towns. One of two or three restaurants splattered up and down main street to give folks a break from Burger King or KFC. Usually these places pretend to be ethnic and they specialize in one or two dishes that keeps the locals happy and keeps them recommending the place over and over to outsiders. And that's what brought us to Basil Boys. Breadsticks.
These breadsticks are legendary to folks in Lenawee County. So we had to find out what the hype was all about. The place was small. Menu items overpriced. No one was Italian. The staff seemed annoyed that we were taking up a table just to order bread and water. But the breadsticks... they were a little better than average. Pretty thick, buttery, but not overly buttery. Marinara was great. Worth stopping in to grab a bag but I wouldn't recommend staying there to dine.
